About Tony Inwood
Tony Inwood was brought up in a Children’s Home during the 1960’s and like a lot of people at that time got involved in the drugs scene when he first left school. Subsequently he became a Christian and through the help of many good friends got himself sorted out and did a number of different jobs before becoming a self-employed gardener in 1987.
He became a member of his local Church in 1994. Over the years spent there he has undertaken a number of roles such as serving on the PCC and other committees. He also preaches on occasions and does the intercessions regularly. In 2008 he set up Vortex Arts with Simon Rodway.

Prior to this in 2002 he underwent a painful, but extremely therapeutic period of prayer counselling and it was during this time that he really began to write poetry. This soon developed into other forms of literature and latterly he has started to produce his own artworks too, some of which are on this website.

About Simon Rodway

Simon Rodway began his social work career in the early 1950’s by working as a housemaster at the Caldecott Community, a home for children with emotional difficulties. It is a charity that he has now been involved in for 60 years in various leading capacities, including Chair of Trustees. He has also been a Child Care Officer, a Lecturer in Social Work, an Assistant Director of Social Services in the London Borough of Barnet and the Director of Social Services in the London Borough of Merton.

When he retired from Merton he became the Chief Social Services Adviser to the British Red Cross and was awarded the OBE during his time there. He has been involved in several enquiries over the years, one into an old people’s home, and others involving serious cases of child abuse. He undertook this work as a freelance Social Work Consultant. He is a qualified Psychiatric Social Worker and Psychotherapist.

Simon has also been involved with his local Church for many years as a Church Warden, member of the PCC  and various other committees, including chairing Chiswick Churches for Justice and Peace. He still serves on several of these. He also leads Church services and preaches occasionally. He currently chairs “Cedars” a local youth drop-in centre, which is a registered charity.
