What is it?
Vortex Arts is an organisation that promotes all aspects of the arts completely free of charge. This is done through the production of poetry books (see Vortex Publishing below), and putting on plays, concerts and art exhibitions as well (see The Vortex below). The idea being that people can have an enjoyable and stimulating time for free, but if they wish to do so can choose to make a contribution to a charity supported by Vortex Arts.

They are all completely free, but anyone who reads them may wish to make a contribution to a local charity supported by Vortex Arts. Details of how to do this are provided in the booklets.

The Vortex was launched in October 2008 with a “Creativity Day”. There have been many events since then - see below:

October – Launch of Vortex Arts with Arts and Crafts Exhibition followed by a Variety Show.

Good Friday - Triptych
Talks
A drama that explored the need for the crucifixion
and resurrection and was done as part of a Good Friday meditation service. It
is a dialogue between God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
July “Summer Soiree” Picnic on green followed by a variety of music and poetry.

April - Concert with Jazz, Blues, Folk and Rock and some poetry too.
October - Concert with Jazz, Folk and much more, and some poetry too.

A contemporary drama about a man with a disturbed
background who happens to meet Jesus in a bar. As the conversation develops, it
becomes clear that all is not as it seems and the man is challenged to examine
his life in a way that he has never done before.
